Can I see my boat’s internet and Starlink data in one place?
Yes. The Chief Engineer watches the whole link from your boat to the internet: the devices on board, the boat’s computer, the Starlink dish, the satellite and the cloud, and shows each step as answering or broken.
It also measures your Starlink data: how much this billing cycle, how much today, and what used it, split between Shimbiri and everything else on board. Every morning it sends you a briefing on WhatsApp.
What it does
- The link from boat to cloud, step by step: devices, the boat’s computer, the Starlink dish, the satellite, the cloud
- Starlink data this billing cycle and today, with the last 30 days charted
- What used the data: Shimbiri’s own traffic and everything else on board
- The devices on the boat’s network, found by scan
- Security issues on the boat’s network, listed so you can resolve them
- A morning briefing on WhatsApp: systems, weather, the last 24 hours and any alerts
The Network and Comms screen aboard Shimbiri on 6 October 2026: every step of the link answering, and this cycle’s Starlink data, live.
Seen at sea
The morning briefing for 6 October 2026 arrived on WhatsApp at 06:30. Systems: the house bank at 13.49 V and 99.6%, diesel 96.9% port and 83.1% starboard, fresh water 54.5%. Weather: up to 15.7 knots in the next 12 hours, gusting 19.9, with the Bureau’s coastal forecast attached. Telemetry: full coverage, 24 of 24 hours. It also said what it could not vouch for: the port engine sender silent for 3 days, and a battery reading of 82.17 V refused as implausible for a 12 V bank. When the link to the boat dropped overnight, the alert said so, and said so again when it came back.
