Can an app track my crew and their certificates?
Yes. Shimbiri keeps the crew list with each person’s certificates and expiry dates, shows at a glance who is in date and who is not, and reads a certificate when you upload it.
It also reads a race’s Notice of Race and turns the requirements into a checklist for your crew.
What it does
- Crew list, with invitations and profiles
- Certificates with expiry dates, and badges for expired or expiring soon
- Upload a certificate and the details are read from it
- Race requirements read from the Notice of Race
- Events, provisioning and meal planning for a passage

Seen at sea
Preparing for the 2026 Sydney to Gold Coast race, asked what certificates were needed, the Crew read the race’s Notice of Race and turned it into a checklist, from Safety and Sea Survival for at least 40% of the crew, including the skipper and second in command, to first aid for at least two. At anchor in Lady Barron in September, crew were added to the live passage by name, from the chat.
